How can I clean my Susan Posnick Colorflo brush ?     top

Washing Instructions:

  • Hold brush hair end downward.
  • Swish head of brush in a half inch of warm water mixed with a small amount of shampoo or mild liquid soap.
  • Angle brush hair downward under running water to rinse.
  • Place brush on side to dry over night.

  1. Shake off excess
  2. Apply less product on older-skins
  3. Stipple on dry skin patches
  4. Sweeping is best
  5. Pull guard up around nose
  6. Remember ears and neck
  7. Circular motion to build up coverage

Tips for using a concealer     top
  1. Blue veins? Cover with orange toned concealer
  2. Apply by dotting – if you drag you are dragging the product on and off the skin
  3. Feather on the edges
  4. Pat at end to blend in
  5. No sweeping!
  6. White spots (loss of pigment)? Fill in with dark colour and put lighter (matching skin tone) colour on top
  7. Red spots? Match red spot to colour of skin surrounding or maybe even lighter.
  8. Concealer can be applied before or after foundation
  9. Colours can and should be mixed

Tips on applying blusher     top
  1. Do not sweep
  2. Smile to apply – blusher on the apples of cheeks looks great and suits many ages
  3. Apply blusher underneath cheekbones for older women – gives definition to the face
  4. Always have the residue of the product towards the ears

Tips on applying bronzer     top
  1. Must powder your neck before applying otherwise bronzer will stick to moisturiser
  2. Zig zag on temples
  3. Sweep down sides of face
  4. One sweep on chin
  5. Up nose (with residue)
  6. Zig zag on forehead
  7. Do not forget to apply to your neck!

Tips on eyebrow shaping and application of make-up     top
  1. Hold a pencil from the tip of your nose to the end of your eye. That will indicate where the eyebrows should stop
  2. There should be an arch
  3. It should be thicker where the eyebrow “starts”
  4. When you have applied powder eyebrow product remember to brush through with mascara brush or remove excess with cotton bud

How should I apply eyeshadow ?     top

What colours do you choose? Powder is best.

Reds make eyes look tired

Black or Asian skin – shiny is best

Sable colours suit all

Do not apply straight onto eyes – shake off excess beforehand! OR wipe


Small eyes?

  • Light colour up to socket and along eye. Pale on lid only.
  • Dark colour all along socket edge and tail end of product under eyes
  • Kohl under eyes
  • White eyeliner
  • Want to do a “smoky eye”? dark eye shadows, darker on socket, bring right around, kohl top and bottom, flat brush along lower lid.


All eye shapes

  • Wash of one colour across eye
  • Highlighter across top – remember to join with bottom
  • Dark colour in crease
  • With or without eyeliner
  • Can use shadow for eyeliner rather than liquid gel – must apply thinly

How should I apply mascara ?     top
  1. Dot off excess on tissue
  2. Use clean wand to separate lashes top and bottom
  3. Twizzle brush on bottom
  4. With other hand hold up eyelid to get good coverage on lashes
  5. Black/purple is good on red heads
  6. Use less product on bottom lashes

Tips on applying lipstick     top
  • Heavy eye make up = light lips
  • Light eye make up = dark lips
  • Gloss in middle for thin lips
  • Lighter colour in middle for thin lips
  • Lip liner or not lip liner? Whatever you decide – do not go heavy-handed!
  • Gloss lipsticks are best

  • Apply shading underneath


Fuller face?

  • Apply shading underneath and under cheek bones – shade in a triangle shape with warmer colour – bronzer, ColorFlo M8 or Ginger ColorMe


Small chin?

  • Apply light colour on chin.
